Kodakgallery.com/Sierra Nevada's Jackson Stewart is an improving young
sprinter with the talent to win his share of races, most notably the
2003 U.S. Madison Championship on the track.
That same year, Jackson also took his first national-level win on
the road at the Downers Avenue criterium in Wisconsin.
From of the 2005 season, Jackson is most proud of his May 7 victory
in the Cat's Hill Classic, his hometown race. It was the first time
he had ever won there in the Pro/1/2 field, and he outsprinted his
close friend and 1998 Los Gatos High School classmate Zach Walker
(McGuire-Langdale) to do it. On June 26, Jackson also stood atop the
podium in the Burlingame Criterium.
In the spring of 2005, Jackson was Kodakgallery.com/Sierra Nevada's
most consistent finisher in the early season races, with a third place
in the Morgan Hill Grand Prix on April 10 and top ten results in four
National Racing Calendar events – seventh in the McLane Pacific
criterium on March 5 in Merced, eighth and tenth in the Central Valley
Classic on March 12-13 in Fresno, and ninth in stage three of the
Redlands Classic on April 2.
As a stage racer, Jackson had an impressive overall performance at
the 2005 Tour de Georgia, where he finished 13th on the final stage
and 50th overall after staying with the lead group over many of the
race's most difficult climbs.
Jackson is known around the Kodakgallery.com/Sierra Nevada team for
his deadpan comedy routines. Away from cycling, he earned his degree
in Business Management from San Jose State University.
