Redlands,
Calif. (March 31, 2005) - Ben Jacques-Maynes of the Kodak EasyShare Gallery/Sierra
Nevada Professional Cycling Team placed third in today's prologue at the
Redlands Bicycle Classic.
Jacques-Maynes's time of 9:02 in the 3.1 mile hillclimb held at Mt. Rubidoux
park in Riverside was 13 seconds off the pace of race winner Chris Wherry
(Health Net-Maxxis) and 2 seconds behind second place Scott Moninger (Health
Net-Maxxis).
"It's a great result for my first NRC race of the year and hopefully
a sign of even better things to come for Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada,"
Jacques-Maynes said after the race.
Tomorrow's road race will likely determine Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada's
chances for strong overall results, with climbers Dominique Perras and
Tim Larkin looking to make their mark on the six-mile finishing climb
to Oak Glen
