Redlands,
Calif. (April 2, 2005) - A strong early season continued for Jackson Stewart
of the Kodak EasyShare Gallery/Sierra Nevada Professional Cycling Team,
with a ninth place finish (reported earlier as eighth) in today's criterium
stage of the Redlands Classic.
Stewart earned his fourth top ten National Racing Calendar finish of the
year by holding off the remainder of the field after a lead group of sprinters
including stage winner Juan Jose Haedo (Colavita-Sutter Home) opened a
small gap on the finishing straight.
Three laps earlier, Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada's Glen Mitchell delivered
Stewart to the front of the field before putting in a hard lap on the
front to close down a breakaway of Jason Bausch (Seasilver), Brice Jones
(Jelly Belly-PoolGel) and Garrett Peltonen (Advantage Benefits-Endeavour).
After placing second in an early points sprint, Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada's
Hayden Godfrey finished in the group, along with teammates Dominique Perras
and Scott Zwizanski.
