         Baltimore
(May 28, 2005) - The downpour began minutes before the start of today's
Kelly Cup, presenting an opportunity for Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada's
Glen Mitchell and Jackson Stewart to escape with Mark McCormack and Aaron
Olson, both of Colavita-Sutter Home, on the second of 40 1-mile laps through
        Baltimore's Patterson Park.

Aided by the weather conditions and the narrow, technical sections of
the course, the quartet gained a quick advantage on the main field. Stewart
was dropped in the early going, leaving Mitchell, McCormack, and Olson
to work together for most of the race.

"We kept rolling through the whole time, making sure that we went
hard enough to say away," Mitchell explained, "and no team really
        got organized to chase."

Midway through the race, the break's gap began shrinking but the trend
was soon reversed and - despite the weather clearing up - the trio was
well over a minute clear by the time McCormack attacked with 4 laps to
        go.

"I was surprised that they started working me over that early,"
said Mitchell, "and it took me about a lap to catch Mark. Then Olson
went and I just let him go and decided to try for second."

After nearly coming to a standstill in the final stretch, Mitchell was
slightly overgeared for McCormack's jump and couldn't outsprint the Colavita-Sutter
        Home rider.

While the leaders were hammering away, the pack dwindled to under 40 riders
out of 125 starters and - with five riders in the main bunch - Kodak Gallery/Sierra
Nevada was in a good spot to lead out sprinter Hayden Godfrey to try for
fourth place. But Godfrey's untimely puncture after the end of free laps
scuttled the team's plan, and fourth place went to Colavita-Sutter Home's
        Juan Jose Haedo.

In his first National Racing Calendar event after overcoming a chest ailment
that plagued him this spring, Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada's Russell Hamby
placed 9th. Ben Jacques-Maynes in 21st, Jackson Stewart in 28th, and Scott
Zwizanski in 29th rounded out the Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada finishers.
