              BIO
In 2006, Mike Dietrich entered the ranks of pro cycling with Kodakgallery.com/Sierra Nevada. Despite having to juggle the demands of his new pro cycling career and a full class load as a finance major at the University of Arizona, Mike quickly established himself as a hard-nosed talent. Returning to the team in 2007, Mike is looking to leverage his confidence, experience and talent to establish himself as an elite climber and time
              trialist.

At the Tour of the Gila in May, 2006 a gritty effort in a two-man
breakaway nearly netted Mike a win in stage 3, but he was caught in the
              last 25 meters.
Mike raced mountain bikes as a teenager and began racing seriously
on the road in 2001 before earning a spot on the highly regarded Fiordifrutta
amateur team after a strong performance in the Tour of Cuba at the
              end of the 2002 season.

In 2003, his first season with Fiordifrutta, Mike won a stage of the
Tour of Ohio, followed by two stage wins and 2nd place overall there
              in 2004.

Continuing to improve, Mike was solidly among of the nation's best
              amateurs in 2005.
In particular, his 9th place overall in the Tour of Connecticut was
a breakthrough performance. "I was the highest-placed amateur
by a couple minutes and only the big names took any time out of me,"
Mike recalls. "That was when I started thinking that I would
              make it as a pro."

In the spring of 2007, Mike will graduate from the University of Arizona with a degree in finance and turn his full efforts and attention to cycling.
