Despite being a first year professional cyclist and the youngest member of the Kodak Gallery Pro Cycling Team, presented by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Cody O'Reilly has already made a name for himself on the world track scene.
A cyclist from age 4, Cody began racing at only 10 years old. In the years since, Cody has developed into a promising young talent. At just 15 years old, Cody won his first National Track title in 2004. He followed this result by winning the 2005 National Team Pursuit Championship and in 2006 by winning both the Jr. Pursuit and Team Pursuit National Championship titles. Cody also found time in 2006 to provide a his older peers a preview of what they have to look forward to in the years ahead when he placed 2nd in the Elite Track National Championship Scratch Race.
Based on his 2006 results and continuous improvement, Cody was chosen to represent the United States in the second round of the 2006-2007 UCI Track World Cup series in Moscow, Russia.
In addition to his skills on the track, Cody shows great promise on the road. In 2005, Cody won a stage of the Vuelta a Nicaragua and placed 10th in general classification of the Tour de L'abitibi.
If Cody follows the advice of his father, track racing legend and former Olympian, Rory O'Reilly, it will be an exciting year..."When in doubt, lead it out!"
