A member of the New Zealand national track cycling team since 1998,
Hayden Godfrey looks to translate his speed on the velodrome into
wins on the road for Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada.
On the track, Hayden has a world-class pedigree: 2004 Olympian in
the team pursuit, 2003 World Cup overall champion in the individual
pursuit, two-time competitor in the Commonwealth Games, winner of
the madison at the 2001 Goodwill Games, and eleven New Zealand national
titles since 1999.
On the road, he scored a stage win at the 2004 Sea Otter Classic in
short time trial similar to the 4km pursuit distance on the track,
followed up by 3rd place in that same race in 2005. Hayden won the
Glens Falls Criterium on July 9 in upstate New York, near his in-season
home with Serotta's Mike Schmalandt in Saratoga Springs.
Off the bike, Hayden enjoys hunting and fishing in the little time
that he has to spend at home in New Zealand. |
