         Carson,
Calif. (March 25, 2005) - Representing New Zealand in the world track
        cycling championships, Hayden
Godfrey of the Kodak EasyShare Gallery/Sierra Nevada Professional
Cycling Team failed to qualify for the individual pursuit final, placing
12th in this morning's qualifying at the ADT Event Center velodrome at
        the Home Depot Center.

His time of 4:35.154 was roughly nine seconds off the pace of top qualifier
Robert Bartko of Germany and five seconds slower than that of Russian
Alexander Serov, the fourth and final qualifier.

Godfrey started with the third-fastest opening kilometer at 1:09.620 and
was scheduled to ride a 4:28 but, like many other athletes, found the
        track surface slower than anticipated.

"I'm satisfied with my form and it's good to know that I'm competitive
at the world level," Godfrey said, "but it's disappointing to
know I could have done a faster ride."
